Privacy statement

Vansure Insurance Services Ltd. Version 2026-10-draft-1.

Draft for compliance review. Not yet in force.

Who we are

Vansure Insurance Services Ltd. (“Vansure”) is a life and accident and sickness insurance agency in British Columbia. We place insurance through HUB Financial with Canadian insurance companies.

This statement explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL).

What we collect

Contact and identity details: your name, date of birth, address, phone, email, occupation and, when the law requires it, proof of identity.

Financial details: income, expenses, debts, savings and insurance you already have. We use these to work out how much cover you need and what you can afford.

Health and lifestyle details: the answers you give for an insurance application, and what you tell your broker in meetings.

A record of our work with you: quotes, illustrations, recommendations, the documents you sign and notes from each meeting.

Why we collect it

To understand your needs and recommend suitable insurance. To get quotes and submit your application. To deliver and service your policy. To meet our legal duties, including record keeping and anti-money-laundering rules.

We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we will ask you again before using your information for anything else.

Who we share it with

The insurance companies you apply to, and HUB Financial, the managing general agency we place business through.

Service providers that run our systems, such as secure data storage, email and e-signature. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.

Regulators, or others, when the law requires it. We never sell your information.

Where it is kept

Your client file is stored in Canada. Access is limited to your broker and Vansure’s compliance staff, and every change to your file is logged.

Some of our service providers process information outside Canada. When they do, the information is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it.

Our AI assistant

Vansure uses an AI assistant called Vee to help your broker with paperwork: summarizing meeting notes, drafting letters and reminders, and checking that your file is complete. Vee does not give you advice and does not make decisions about you. A licensed broker reviews everything before it reaches you.

Vee is run for us by Anthropic, an AI company based in the United States. If you agree, the information in your file, including health information, may be sent to and processed by this provider outside Canada so Vee can do this work.

This is your choice. You can say no, or change your mind at any time in your portal, and you will get the same service from your broker. If you say no, Vee is not used on your file.

Email and text messages

With your consent we send you updates about your file, reminders and occasional information about insurance by email or text. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will still send messages that are needed to service your policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your file for 15 years after our relationship with you ends, as insurance record-keeping rules require. After that it is securely destroyed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can withdraw your consent at any time; if you withdraw consent we need to provide insurance, we will tell you what that means before we act on it.

If you have a concern we have not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
